100 Word Story

California Writers Club, Mt. Diablo Branch has asked for one hundred word stories from its members, so I am creating 100 word stories for my secondary characters. 

Peter-

One moment, I have little interest in her, sitting behind me in English class for the last two months, her existence barely registering. The next moment, she is all I can think about. The dance Friday night changed everything.  The way she faced public humiliation straight on, the way she stared down any one who looked at her too long with fire in her eyes and the slightest upturn in the corner of her mouth.

I might have avoided my obsession, if it weren’t for the way she returned his gaze. She should look at me that way.
